Car Types
All vehicles displayed and models listed on our website are examples of similar cars that may be provided. We cannot guarantee that the make or model of the rental vehicle will be the same as the vehicle displayed on our website when you make your online booking. We only guarantee that it will be a similar vehicle with the same characteristics.
Drivers Age and Drivers License
The minimum age to rent a car with CarTravel is 25 year old and the driver must hold a full license for a minimum of 1 year. An International Driver’s License (IDL) is required if the renter’s national driver’s license is not in Roman alphabet (i.e. Arabic, Greek, Russian or Chinese). International driver's license must be accompanied by the original domestic license of the driver. UK license holders must present both the photo card and its paper counterpart at the time of rental.
Additional Drivers
All additional drivers in car rental contracts must comply with same rules stated in the previous point.
Car Accidents
In case of accident its mandatory to call the authorities (112) and always fill an accident report (with or without fault). If the driver is proven to be under the influence of alcohol and / or narcotics, he / she will be required to pay all the costs of any damage occurred.
Personal Accidents
Personal accident insurance (PAI) is not included in your standard car rental. PAI is available as an extra in the reservation form.
Car Documents Loss
If the client looses or doesn't have the car documents upon car return, we will charge the client 100EUR to obtain new documents.
Out of hours collect and return
Car collects and returns before 08:00 AM and after 20:00 PM are charged 20EUR. If you choose to collect or return the car out of hours, the prices shown in the website already include the respective charge and you will be notified of such choice.
Insurance Coverage
Standard car rental rates include the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and the Third Party Liability insurance. The CDW as an excess according to the car category. The client can eliminate the excess fee by selecting the optional Super CDW Insurance in the reservation form. Personal accident insurance is not included by default in your standard car rental.
Fuel Policy
You must return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel when it was collected. Missing fuel will be charged accordingly on your return.
Mileage / KMs Policy
Unlimited.
Cross Border Travel
Cross border travel is only allowed to Spain. Extra Insurance for Spain is required and will be charged 50€ per car rental contract.
Payment Method
Car rentals can be paid for by either credit card, debit card or in cash (EUR only). Upon vehicle pick-up, driver must also have one of the following credit cards: American Express, MasterCard or Visa. A credit card in the driver's name will be required at the rental desk. This is because a deposit is held on the credit card until the vehicle is returned. Always ensure that the card has sufficient credit available at the time of rental. The amount authorized is generally the insurance excess and the fuel deposit, but it varies depending upon the size of the vehicle and the age of the driver. In the event that you fail to present a valid credit card or lack of sufficient funds available on the credit card, car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle.
